*and some interesting news just received from a customer (May 2003)
Guy runs le mobile a recording truck with Studer analogue A827 24 Track and digital D827, he is using a SR-4 interfacing directly to the Sony machines using Sony P2 protocol, directly to the D827 using AES/EBU protocol and to the A827 using a TLS 4000 synchroniser!
Hi Colin, I just want to say hello,
it is 1:30 am - I am finishing mixing 26 songs for The Pretenders DVD in 5.1. Your CB box is hooked-up to my Studer TLS (analog A800) my Studer D827, a Digi Beta and a BVU 850 never missed a beat, we do not have to think about it. It is always working.

They messed up when they transferred the film to video. It (the CB box) saved our life with the No Doubt DVD (drop frame video when the original master was recorded with non drop frame and with no video we ref'd to "Film shoot") We have found a great trick to reverse the mistake made on the video production, combination of Studer D827, pull down and generate a drop frame to lock up the video and the ProTools.
Thank you again, Guy Charbonneau

professional audio brand--BEL

Bel (Digital Audio) Ltd. , based in Milton Keynes, UK, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of specialist broadcast equipment.
Bel began life in 1975 as a small Company manufacturing audio mixing consoles and effects processors for the recording industry. As new technology became available, our first digital products appeared and in the early 1980s we launched the BD80 series of samplers and delays, which became a familiar sight in many of the UK’s leading and influential recording studios. The broadcast sector of the industry was keen to adopt the winning combination of high reliability and simplicity of operation that has always been Bel’s hallmark, and from the 1990s, we have concentrated on the professional broadcaster as our primary customer.
The Company is still run by its original founders - all engineers. In fact, we are professional engineers designing products for professional engineers. Our philosophy is simple: to continue to design extremely high performance and reliable audio and video equipment which addresses the changing needs of current broadcast techniques. High mechanical build quality, ease of use and reliability are the starting points of all our designs.
Among our products, we are possibly best known for our Audio synchronisation Delays, which have become an industry-standard solution world-wide to the constant broadcast problem of restoring audio sync to video after processing or complex routing. Our delays provide a hassle-free and utterly reliable method of maintaining frame-accurate sync in any broadcast situation.
As well as our audio delays, our standard product range now includes a wide range of audio and video in-rack broadcast monitors ranging from simple 2 channel analogue devices to comprehensive Dolby® E and 8 channel HD SDI specified models. The design principles of ease of use and solid reliability remain and therefore these products are found throughout the world in MCR, OB and flyaway systems. You will find full technical details of all these products on this website.
As well as our standard products, we are frequently asked to produce short production runs of custom equipment, perhaps to meet the requirements of a broadcaster’s particular operating methods. We can usually address these requests with a rapid turnaround, and we continue to welcome such enquiries.
Thank you for your interest in Bel (Digital Audio) Ltd.

professional audio brand--ADB

ADB, originally founded in Belgium in 1920 by Adrien De Backer, operated as a family business until 1987 when it was acquired by the SIEMENS Group.
At that time ADB had already pioneered some of the key technologies used in stage & studio lighting, such as digital dimmers, memory control systems, condenser optics for theatre spotlights... and was strongly established as a leading broadline manufacturer with facilities in Belgium and France, and a sales subsidiary in Germany.

In December 2002, as the result of a management buy-out, Christian Léonard, then General Manager of ADB-TTV France, backed up by a group of private and institutional investors, took over control of the whole ADB-TTV Group and very rapidly restructured and streamlined the operations. Today production and logistics are centralized in the French facility in Saint-Quentin, whereas R&D, Product Engineering, Marketing and International Sales are still located in the Belgian premises as before. Following these changes, the new ADB Lighting Technologies Group is now a lean and agile operation able and eager to face new challenges.

Capabilities

1.ADB's core competence is in high performance, high quality products and services for professional applications in stage and studio lighting.

2.ADB is mastering software and hardware development, as well as product engineering and production of all key components of a stage or studio lighting system, i.e. fixed and motorized luminaires, dimmers, control desks, networks and motorized suspensions. 3.From system design through equipment specifications, installation and commissioning, the ADB Project Team provides customized solutions for any kind of stage or studio lighting system, even complete lighting vans for use wherever power supply is not available. ADB Project Engineers ensure efficient coordination with Consultants and Architects as well as specialists in infrastructures, air conditioning, stage machinery, sound, electricity, e.a., so as to guarantee to the end user timely project completion and total system performance.

4.ADB does not compromise on the quality, safety and reliability of its products.

5.ADB operates through three subsidiaries in France, Belgium, Germany and a network of professional agents and distributors in over 50 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and South America.

professional audio brand--360 Systems

360 Systems was founded in 1972 by Robert Easton, a USC cinema department graduate working in the Hollywood film industry. The firm's original business plan focused on applying new semiconductor technology to products for the music and recording industries. Many of these "firsts" from the 1970's have since become industry standards, including today's popular digital keyboards with sounds stored in ROM, programmable equalizers, polyphonic and single-line guitar synthesizers, and the Compumix™ automated mixing console, marketed by Quad Eight Electronics.

During the 1980's, 360 Systems introduced its Permanent Playback™ digital audio message players, a standard in theme parks throughout the world. Permanent Playback replaces recording tape by storing high quality audio on EPROM memory chips. The revolutionary design removes all moving parts and delivers a virtually maintenance free system. Nearly twenty years later, original units are still in service.

360 Systems entered the broadcast equipment business with the introduction of the DigiCart® recorder in 1990. Providing the first real option to analog cart machines, DigiCart offers a level of reliability never before achieved with tape recorders. Newer models continue to provide solutions for today's broadcast needs—including internal hard disk storage, the convenience of removable media, and one of the longest-lived standards in the broadcast industry. DigiCart recorders are found throughout television, and radio networks around the world.

As the advantages of digital audio became clear, 360 Systems designed products that emphasized reliability and ease-of-use. 360 Systems Instant Replay®, introduced in the mid-90’s, offers instant access to 1,000 audio clips of almost any length. A favorite among DJs and talk show hosts, Instant Replay has become an essential tool in popular radio and television shows.

360 Systems' Short/cut™ Editor is designed for fast, on-air editing of audio source materials. Short/cut provides a completely self-contained portable solution to waveform editing, and includes features usually found in full-blown workstations: scrub-editing, cut-copy-paste, DSP-generated cross-fades, and instant retrieval of audio clips. The Short/cut editor has found service in radio and television production, remote broadcast trucks, and voice-over facilities.
360 Systems’ TCR-8 multi-track recorders are used in television broadcasting, motion picture sound, and as premium quality audio master recorders. They deliver 24-bit audio quality, time-code synchronization, 9-pin serial control for VTR emulation, internal hard disk storage, plus DVD-RAM.

360 Systems introduced audio networking for television broadcast with the “Ethernet Audio™” network, which provides shared-access to centrally-stored audio files. The DigiCart-E® recorder can be used either on the Ethernet Audio network, or as a self-contained recorder-editor.

First shown at the April 2003 NAB Convention, the new Image Server video server sets new standards for performance and features, at a low price. The mission of 360 System’s Video Division is to deliver high-value DTV products that have significantly greater capabilities, and much lower costs.

360 Systems designs, manufactures and markets innovative audio and video solutions from its headquarters in Westlake Village, California. In 2004, 360 Systems celebrated its 33rd year serving the broadcast industry.
